A root crop harvester including a rotatable cutting blade 3 mounted in a frame 1 which is supported by a ground wheel 5 mounted on a crank 6 journalled in the frame is characterized in that the height of the cutter with respect to the crop is adjustable by moving the crank 6 by means of a lever 8 piwoted in the frame about a transverse axis 9 and being operatively connected to the crank by a linkage formed from pairs of members 11, 12 and 14, 15.
