Abstract

1,134,061. Crop harvester. MASSEY FERGUSON (AUSTRALIA) Ltd. 9 June, 1966 [1 July, 1965], No. 27976/65. Heading A1F. A crop, e.g. sugar cane, harvester having at least one substantially vertical side wall 10 with a rearwardly and upwardly inclined top edge includes a rotary crop lifter and divider 19 above the top edge with its axis inclined rearwardly upwards, and a ground engaging shoe 12 connected to the side wall by substantially parallel links 16, 17 which permit the shoe to follow ground undulations, the front end of the lifter and divider being mounted on the shoe and the rear end being pivoted to an arm pivoted on the side wall. The lifter and divided illustrated has a conical portion 21 and a frusto-conical portion 22. The later portion may be cylindical. The lifter and divider also includes spirals 23, 24 of opposite hand. A clearing saw 33 is provided to cut free harvested crop which is entangled with standing crop.
