Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:0976217/C1/1> and its acid addition salts wherein Z is S, SO or SO2; A is an alkylene chain of from 2 to 6 carbon atoms and Y is dialkylamino (the alkyl groups containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms) or a monocyclic heterocyclic amino group containing 4 to 12 carbon atoms and a maximum of two hetero atoms selected from oxygen nitrogen and sulphur and the preparation thereof by reacting a 10-unsubstituted pentafluorosulphurphenothiazine with a reactive tertiary aminoalkyl ester. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise the compounds of the invention and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The compositions are useful as tranquilizers, antiemetics, antihistamines, potentiesters for analgesics and anaesthetics and general central nervous system depressants.
