Abstract

The invention comprises: (a) compounds of the general formula <FORM:1012619/C2/1> (wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom, R2 and R3 each represent a C1-4 alkyl radical, or R2 and R1, jointly represent an alkylene radical containing 2-4 carbon atoms in a straight chain, or R2 and R3 jointly form with the nitrogen atom a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring which may contain an oxygen atom as the only other hetero-atom, and Z represents -CH = CH- or -CH2-CH2-) and their acid addition salts; (b) the preparation of the compounds of (a) by dehydrating compounds of the general formula <FORM:1012619/C2/2> and, if desired, satisfying the product and/or, when Z is -CH = CH-, hydrogenating this to -CH2-CH2-; (c) the combination of the process of (b) with the preparation of the starting material by reducing a compound of the general formula <FORM:1012619/C2/3> and (d) the combination of the process of (c) with the preparation of the starting material by condensing a compound of the general formula <FORM:1012619/C2/4> with a compound of the general formula R1-CH2-CO-NR2R3. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise bases of the first general formula above, or their pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salts, together with a pharmacologically acceptable inert carrier. They possess reserpine-, histamine-and serotonin-inhibiting and bronchodilatory activity.
