Abstract
975,155. Endless conveyers. BAKER PERKINS Ltd. July 31, 1962 [Aug. 3, 1961], No. 28203/61. Heading B8A. A group of baking tins 1 brought by a loading conveyer 2 to a position adjacent a dead plate 3 located in the entrance to an oven (not shown) is engaged by a pusher bar 5 moved initially at a speed less than that of an oven conveyer 4 and at a speed equal to that of the oven conveyer 4 throughout the transfer of the tins on to the oven conveyer 4. The pusher bar 5 is attached to a pair of cranked levers 6 disposed in spaced parallel planes. Each lever 6 is pivotally connected at its elbow 9 to a link 10 of an endless chain 11. The upper end of each lever 6 is provided with a spigot 7 sliding in a horizontal track 8 so that as the link 10 runs round the sprockets 13, 14 the pusher bar 5 is lifted to clear the succeeding group of tins 1. A two-speed drive to the chain 11 comprises a slow drive 17 for the loading stroke overrun by a fast drive 18 for the return stroke brought into operation by an electromagnetic clutch 16 actuated by limit switches (not shown) positioned along the loading stroke.
