Abstract

The invention comprises p-aminobenzoic acid esters of especially d- or dlpantherol and a process for their manufacture by reacting about 3 mols. p-nitrobenzoyl halide with 1 mol pantherol and subsequent reduction of the nitrobenzoic acid esters so formed. The products may comprise mainly the triester mixed with a minor proportion of diester. Specification 974,707 is referred to.ALSO:Hair spray compositions comprise parthenol p-aminobenzoates as the hair-setting component, besides the usual propellants, and optionally perfumes, antistatic agents, auxiliary hair-conditioning agents and plasticizers. The compositions are prepared in the usual manner by adding to a container the propellant and a concentrate of the other ingredients in e.g. a C1-4 alcohol such as ethanol. Samples are given. Specification 974,707 is referred to.
