Abstract

The invention comprises compound of general formula <FORM:0973913/C1/1> wherein R1 and R2 may be the same or different alkyl radicals, R3 stands for hydrogen or an alkoxy radical, R4 stands for hydrogen, alkyl or alkoxy radical, R5, and R6, which may be the same or different stand for hydrogen or alkyl radical and n is 1 or 2; and acid addition salts thereof; and the preparation thereof by catalytic hydrogenation of isoquinoline derivatives of general formula <FORM:0973913/C1/2> wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6 and n have the above significance, optionally in an inert diluent or solvent such as ethyl acetate at a temperature between 15 and 60 DEG C. and under elevated pressure.
