Abstract

973,858. Connecting lattice beams. INDUSTRIA PRODOTTI SIDERURGICI S.p.A. Jan. 23, 1961, No. 2689/61. Heading E1K. Lattice beams, which are flat or of polygonal section, comprise longitudinal metal rods 2, 3, 4, 5 interconnected by continuous metal rods disposed between respective pairs of longitudinal rods in zig-zag fashion; and means for connecting together such lattice beams 1tr 1 , 1d, 1g, 1i comprise apertured end plates 8 attached to the ends of each beam; and a U-shaped member 13, attached to the beam 1tr 1 , and having lugs 14 formed on each face thereof which engage the plate apertures 9, a locking wedge 15 being used to secure the member 13 to the plate 8, and thus lock the corresponding beams together. In another embodiment, Fig. 12 (not shown), two beams each having apertured end plates are secured together in alignment by a member passing through the aligned plate apertures and being locked in position.
