Abstract

973,700. Agricultural implements. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. March 1, 1961 [March 26, 1960], No. 7509/61. Heading A1B. A cultivator comprising a plurality of rotatably mounted cultivating members 2 which rotate due to contact with the ground is characterized in that the cultivating members are movable relative to a frame in a direction parallel to the common axis of rotation, resilient means being provided to oppose such movement. As shown cultivating members 2 are mounted on shafts 3, 4 which are slidable in bearings 25, springs 28 being provided to resist rearward movement of the shafts. The bearings are each fixed to a frame 22 which is pivoted about a vertical pin 19 on a frame 9 which is attached to a tractor hitch linkage 70, 71, 72. The frames 22 are provided with spring urged pins 24 which co-operate with holes 15 in a strip 1 to angularly position the shafts 3, 4. In a modification the bearing is attached by a parallel linkage to the frame 22.
