Abstract
816,146. Agricultural implements. VAN DER LELY N.V., C. Oct. 24, 1955 [Nov. 3, 1954], No. 30384/55. Class 6(1). A machine for tilling the soil comprises cultivator wheels 9, 13 mounted on rearwardly extending axles 8, 12 forming part of a frame 4 attachable to the lifting links 2, 3 of a tractor, the wheels being provided with blades 18 set at such an angle to the direction of travel that the wheels are rotated only by contact with the ground. The blades 18 are mounted on bars 17 which are rotatably adjustable in relation to a pair of discs 16 mounted on a hub 15. In a modification the bars are held in position on a disc by U-bolts, the bars being provided with longitudinal grooves which co-operate with radial grooves in the disc so that the angular positions of the bars may be adjusted with respect to the disc. In a further modification two wheels may be mounted on the same shaft, the blades of one wheel being of opposite hand to the blades of the other wheel.
