Abstract

972,249. Stand-by arrangements for D.C. supply. WALTER KIDDE CO. Ltd. Sept. 28, 1962 [Sept. 28, 1961], No. 34939/61. Heading H2H. A D.C. supply, suitable for the fire detection system of Specification 972,248, is normally provided from the A.C. mains through a transformer 1 and rectifier bridge 2, the consequent energization of a relay coil B5 completing a circuit through contact B2 to the output terminals 3, 4. Failure of the A.C. main supply or members 1, 2 and subsequent de-energization of coil B5 completes a circuit through contact B1 from a stand-by battery 8 to the terminals 3, 4, such de-energization also closing normallyopen contacts B3, B4 to operate a buzzer 10 and lamps 11. These alarms are also operated by closure of contacts A1, A2 upon de-energization of a relay coil A3 connected in the battery charging circuit from a rectifier bridge 9.
