971,579. Multi-compartment containers. W. C. B. CONTAINERS Ltd. Oct. 1, 1963 [Oct. 4, 1962], No. 37617/62. Heading B8P. A multi-compartment container has some of its compartment walls formed by sheets of fibre board, plastics or similar materials 7 folded over fixed wires 6. The sheets are attached to the base 1 and enclose either blocks 9 of resilient material or springs 10. Rigid partitions 4 and 5 and the container walls 2 form the other compartment walls. The walls 2 may be lined with cushioning material 11. The partitions 4 pass underneath the fixed wires 6. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 3, each compartment may have two yielding walls 7 enclosing springs 10 with the container walls 2 lined with cushioning material 11. Alternatively, the walls 2 have an attached flexible sheet 12, Fig. 4, enclosing a resilient block and its bottom edge inserted beneath a rod 13. The resilient blocks may be formed of polyurethane, expanded rubber, or sponge.
