Abstract
970, 322. Enlarger projection systems. CAPS (RESEARCH) Ltd. Oct. 7, 1960 [Oct. 8, 1959], No. 21177/64. Divided out of 970,321. Headings G2A and G2J. An optical projection system for an enlarger comprises a light source, a semi-ellipsoidal reflector surrounding it, a film locating means, and a magnifying lens system, the reflector having surface reticulations or deformations in the area of the apex of its reflecting surface. The enlarger itself is generally as described in Specification 970,321. The light source 18 is preferably an ultra-violet lamp with a line discharge along the optical axis. It is surrounded by a reflector 19 of ellipsoidal shape, an approximate equation being given. The reflector is provided adjacent the aperture 9 at its vertex with smooth regular deformations to even out the illumination in the central part of the field. Then come, in order, a heat filter 20, shutter 21, condenser lens 56, and gate lens 54, of specified characteristics. The magnifying lens system is made up of a planoconvex lens 64, a cemented doublet 65 of a planoconcave and biconvex pair, an aspheric corrector plate 66, and a positive meniscus lens 67, all of specified characteristics and spacing, and including an aperture stop 68.
