970,138. Measuring fluid flow. FERRANTI Ltd. Sept. 12, 1963 [Sept, 15, 1962], No. 35236/62. Heading G1R. In a liquid flow indicator including a first pivotally mounted vane 4 counter-weighted at 8 and second pivotally mounted vane 9 arranged downstream of the vane 4 and counter-weighted at 13, the liquid flow pivots the vane 4 until the flow rate reaches a certain value so as to pivot the vane 4 to such an extent that further increase in the flow rate pivots the vane 9. The flow rate is indicated by a pointer 22 actuated through a magnetic coupling 19, 20 rotated by the vane 4. At minimum flow rate, with the vane 9 in the position shown in Fig. 1, a cam 30, actuated through a magnetic coupling 27, 28, operates a micro-switch 32 in a circuit of an audible or visible alarm device. At maximum flow rate a cam 31 actuates a micro-switch 33 in a circuit to a further audible or visible alarm device.
