Heading A4F, [Also in Division B1] A cleaning apparatus for liquid containers such as swimming baths and water storage tanks comprises a collector device 20 provided with nozzles 36 from which water under pressure, supplied through a base 35, is discharged to disturb the sediment so that it may be withdrawn through the device 20 by a siphon constituted by a hose 19 and a vertical pipe 9 leading to a drain 6 via a siphon seal 10. Water under pressure is supplied from a main 29 to the hose 35 through an injector 26, 27 which withdraws liquid from the tank via a pipe 32, filter pack 33, and a purifying pack 34 so that filtered and purified water may be discharged through the distributer 20. Depending upon the level of water in the tank the hoses 19, 35 may be connected to either of three pipe fittings 16.
