Abstract

Device separates the liqs. from the solid matter in the prods. to be purified. It consists of a tank, which can be mounted on lorry. The liqs. to be purified can be sucked into the tank through a pipe system and an orifice that can be dipped into the bulk prod. When the tank is full of float valve connects an internal reservoir to the suction pipe and the water is sucked through drainage filter tubes. When this reservoir is full thesuction is stopped and the wt. of the accumulated water tilts a release shutter and the water flows out. The solids are withdrawn from the tank by an endless screw into a skip for removal as required. Device is simple in construction; it gives a high yield and can operate continuously. By reducing the water content the cost of transport is reduced to about one half.
