Abstract
1,080,168. Cleaning apparatus. A. L. HAIGH. June 30, 1964 [July 9, 1963], No. 27106/63. Heading A4F. [Also in Division D1] Apparatus for de-greasing or cleansing articles by liquid under pressure comprises a rectangular tank 1 with a liquid tight lid 2 and an opening in its bottom covered by a filter 4 leading to an electrically or gasheated sump reservoir 5 with a thermostat 8. An electrically driven pump 11 feds liquid from reservoir 5 through pipes 16 to jet devices 17. Each device 17 comprises, Fig. 3, a dished plate 18 with holes 19 and having sealing means 20 around its edge. Pipes 16 have an inlet union 22 for each device 17, against which plate 18 is held by a screw 23, with openings 24. A spray gun 25 for additional cleaning is connected by a flexible pipe 26 to pump outlet 15 and a valve 27 allows pressurized liquid to be directed thereto. Pump 11 at least is switched off when lid 2 is raised.
