Abstract

1524037 Pesticide spraying SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 22 Dec 1975 [26 Nov 1974] 51126/74 Heading AID One or more sachets containing pesticide within a water-disintegrable skin are introduced into a dispenser receptacle 10, and water is passed via inlet 11 into the receptacle 10 and passes via outlet 12 from the receptacle 10 to a main spray tank 1 which is connected to spray nozzles (not shown). Water is continuously circulated through the tank I and the dispenser receptacle 10 by means of the pump 3, and on operation of a control valve 4 some of the water is delivered to distribution valve 5 which is connected by hoses 15 to the spray nozzles. Each sachet is delivered via the hinged lid 18 directly into the receptacle from a sealed container to avoid contact with the operator. The flow of water into the dispenser receptacle can only be initiated when the lid 18 is closed. The water inlet 11 incorporates a multi-jet nozzle to ensure turbulence in the receptacle. An emptying port 25 is connected to a venturi tube in the return hose 13. A valve is provided at the junction between the hose 13 and the recycle hose 9 to direct water either to the inlet 11 or to the venturi tube in the hose 13.
