A laminate comprises at least one fleece 1 of glass or like mineral fibres of length 5-30 inches bonded to at least one mat 2 of randomly orientated glass or like mineral fibres of length less than 3 inches and preferably less than 1¢ inches. The fleece may be sandwiched between two mats or a mat may be sandwiched between two fleeces which may or may not have the same thickness (see Figs. 1, 4, and 2, not shown). Adhesives suitable to bond the layers are phenol-formaldehyde resin or similar resins, or starch. Specification 805,551 is referred to.
