968,771. Draught excluders. WOODSIDE INDUSTRIES Inc. Oct. 22, 1962 [March 2, 1962], No. 39957/62. Heading E1J. A door actuated threshold seal comprises a threshold 11 including a channel 13 extending the length of the threshold, an inverted U-section seal bar 14 vertically reciprocable in the channel by means of an L-shaped lever 17 of resilient round spring material, the lever, as shown in Fig. 3 having an upturned end 22 extending between the legs of the bar 14 and engaging the web of the bar and an upward projecting trigger end portion 19 making with the horizontal by portion 18, an angle of less than 90 degrees and extending up above the threshold to be tipped by the door 16 on closing. A socket 38 extending the length of the threshold compresses a resilient tube 39 against the floor to form a seal. Weep holes 47, 48 are provided. The underside of the door is covered by a horizontal flange 57 and flocking on the lower surface against which the bar 14 engages when raised, and the flange 57 may have a vertical flange 61 provided with a drip shield 63. The sides 42, 47 of the threshold have longitudinal grooves 44 to enable the side to be easily removed for fitting over carpet &c. The ramp portions 41 may be replaced by horizontal portions and the channel 14 sunk into the floor.
