Abstract

964,210. Communication gangways for railway coaches. A. G. WILD & CO. Ltd. Oct. 19, 1962 [Sept. 25, 1961], No. 34226/61. Heading B7L. A communication gangway for corridor railway coaches comprises a frame 12, Figs. 2 and 3, having attached thereto a faceplate 13 and a footplate 14 which slidably engages the floor 15 of the coach at the coach end wall 10 and within the coach door frame 11, the frame 12 having side and top extensions 18, the gap between the latter and the footplate 14 and the door frame 11 and floor 15, being covered by a flexible strip 19, e.g. synthetic plastic of U-shaped cross-section. Hinged rigid flaps 20 are.mounted on the frame 11 and are urged into contact with the extensions-18 by springs at 21. The top of the faceplate 13 is connected to the coach end wall 10 by spring means 17 and the bottom of the plate has a buffer member 16 attachable to the existing spring-loaded buffer stems.
