Abstract

1343962 Suction nozzle ETABS GEORGES OLIVIER 8 Nov 1971 [6 Nov 1970] 51758/71 Heading A4F A suction nozzle comprises internal walls 4 defining a central suction cavity 6, a sole plate 8 having ribs 11 and 12 Fig. 4 (not shown) defining a suction mouth communicating with the central cavity 6 through an opening 14, a plate 17 guided for vertical movement by pillars 10 and biased upwardly by springs 19, and control means for moving the plate 17 downwardly to a stable lower position in which a brush 16 on the plate is in an extended operative position Fig. 3 (not shown) and for releasing the plate from the lower position to retract the brush. The control means comprises foot control members 20, 21, swivelling about axes 29 and 30 respectively and linked together by a link 36. Each control member has a roller 34, 35 or a moulded protuberance bearing on the plate 17 and co-operating with ramps 43, 44 on the plate to effect lowering and raising of the plate as the central members swivel. The ramps 43, 44 may be resilient metal pieces connected at one end only to plate 17 to allow the brush to be resiliently pressed towards its retracted position Fig. 5, (not shown).
