Abstract

1,124,506. Door bottom weather seals. HILLS INDUSTRIES Ltd. 2 Nov., 1965 [3 Nov., 1964], No. 44688/64. Heading E1J. A door bottom weather seal comprises a sill strip 6 adapted to be secured to the sill 2 and a resilient strip 8 e.g. of rubber mountable on the bottom of the door 1 and adapted, when the door is closed to engage an upwardly projecting flange or rib 9 on the sill strip 6. This latter has on its upper surface transversely disposed upwardly projecting ridges 12, and the upper surface is inclined upwards towards the strip 8 so as to shed water outwardly. A door strip 7 with downwardly depending flange or flanges 15 may be added on the underside of the door to deflect downwardly water tending to enter through the clearance between the door and sill.
