Abstract

968,733. Boiled sugar treatment. BAKER PERKINS Ltd. Feb. 22, 1963 [March 7, 1962], No. 8831/62. Heading A2B. Apparatus (Figs. 1 2, and 3) for confectionery production comprises a continuous sugar cooker 10, a slowly rotating cooling table 12 having a central discharge orifice 13, a shoot 11 for delivering cooked sugar from the cooker on to the table 12, and one or more adjustable ploughs 14 for diverting sugar on the table 12 into the discharge orifice 13. From the discharge orifice 13 the sugar may be led by a steam-jacketed shoot 16 into a rotating funnel 17, where citric acid, flavouring and colouring delivered by metering pumps 18 may be added to the sugar.
