Abstract
968,378. Scaffolding. J. MELON. Oct. 17, 1960 [Oct. 15, 1959; Feb. 2, 1960], No. 35491/60. Heading E1S. Scaffolding is built up of frames A, Fig. 1, B, Fig. 2, and tubes with various end attachments, Fig. 4-6 (not shown). The frames A, Figs. 1, 10 are arranged parallel to one another at right angles to the wall of a building. The tubes D, and frames B, Figs. 2, 10 are parallel to the wall of the building with the tubes adjacent the building so that by using shorter tubes the scaffolding may be curved in plan. The ends of one type of tube and the ends of the upper horizontal tubes of one type of frame B have vertical cross rods U which provide spigots to connect the vertical tubes Al of the frames A. The lower tube of the frame B may be attached to an upright by a half sleeve V 1 , Fig. 8c and a sliding ring A 9 . The ends of cross tubes F for planks are similarly mounted with the aid of a stop A7. For longitudinal extension of the scaffolding a modified frame B is used the top tubes of which have rings W, Fig. 10 for passing over the uprights of the frames A and tubes E also have rings W.
