Abstract

1,091,842. Tents. HEINRICH B. DAUB & SOHN. May 6, 1965 [May 6, 1964], No. 19123/ 65. Heading E1A. The framework for a collapsible tent comprises upright and horizontal bars or tubes of metal or plastics material, connected together by tubular plastics connectors. The connectors may have longitudinally arranged internal raised ribs 50, (Fig. 4, not shown) for gripping the bars. The lower uprights, 10-13, are supported in cylindrical base-plates 14, each with a broken annular lower rim 61 (Figs 7-9, not shown), with downwardly projecting resilient studs arranged around the rim. Each upright is secured to the base-plate by means of a locking member 63, (Figs. 8, 9, not shown), which is U-shaped in elevation, with the upper limb 64 passing through a hole 66 in the upright immediately above the base plate, and with the lower limb being formed into a substantially closed frame, part of which projects outside the rim and is fixed to the ground by a peg 67.
