Abstract
967,948. Sliding bolts. E. HOLDEN & CO. (B'HAM) Ltd., and E. J. HOLDEN. July 2, 1963, No. 26125/63. Heading E2A. A method of fixing a flush fitting bolt to a door or the equivalent, resides in providing the fixing plate for the bolt member with a centrally disposed series of holes and in forming the bolt member with a centrally disposed gap or gaps so that screws for fixing the fixing plate to the door or the equivalent may be passed through the gap or gaps and driven into the woodwork of the door or the equivalent. The invention is applicable to the construction disclosed in Specification 967,947, Figs. 1 to 3 (not shown). As applied to the construction shown in which a bolt head 105 is connected through a pair of plates 13 to an actuating member 106 operable by a lever 107, the plates 13 are arranged on edge to allow the fixing screw for a fixing plate 101 to be passed between them and into the woodwork 11 of a door.
