966,981. Cranes. H. F. LAWRENCE. Feb. 27, 1962 [Feb. 13, 1961], No. 5352/61. Heading B8B. [Also in Divisions E1 and F2] Booms for derricks &c. are built of box units connected end to end by screws. One derrick comprises a boom 24 supported by a mast 23 having back stays 24. The foot block 30 comprising the mast step and fairleads for running rigging is connected to two ground cills 26, each in two sections and supporting the back stays. The bull-wheel 28 has bracing 29. The derrick is operated by an electric four drum winch. A guy derrick, gin poles, a piling frame and a tower crane are also described.
