Abstract

827,943. Mobile jib cranes. MLCAK, M. Jan. 14, 1958 [Feb. 8, 1957], No. 1271/58. Class 78 (4). The mast 4 of a mobile slewing and luffing crane is supported on the slewing platform 2 by a pair of struts 6 disposed on either side of the jib 5 and in front of it. In the form illustrated an auxiliary jib 7 can be extended by a hand winch at the foot of the jib, all other movements being controlled by electric gear 3. Erection is by first laying the jib and the mast in horizontally opposed positions, then raising the mast and the jib in that order using the luffing tackle 20, the mast being held by guys while the jib is raised. Finally the struts 6 are raised by the hoisting tackle 8.
