966,933. Moulding apparatus. SIEGWART FLOOR CO. Ltd. June 5, 1963 [June 5, 1962], No. 21641/62. Heading B5A. - An open-topped mould 1 is spanned by a bridge 6 hingedly connected to one side-wall 2 of the mould and rigidly latched to the opposite side-wall 3, the bridge having clips depending into the mould adapted to clamp a bar 25 of a reinforcing structure 26, to hold the structure firmly in position in the mould. The bridge comprises members 7 bolted together by lugs 8 and having a hooked lug 9 at one end and a slotted lug 10 with a latch 12 having an eccentric slot 13 pivoted thereto at the other end. In operation the hooked lug 9 engages a bar 4 on one side of the mould so the slot 13 of lug 10 falls vertically above a bar 5 on the other side of the mould. Rotation of the latch clamps the bridge in position. Each clip comprises coaxially apertured members 17 and 19 connected by a tube 16 and having a bolt 20 extending therethrough. A spring 23 connects member 19 to a collar 22 of the bolt thereby biasing the bolt upward. In operation the bolt is pushed downward so that a jaw 21 engages a bar 25 of the reinforcing structure 26 which is thereby firmly held in the mould. The apparatus may be used for moulding concrete beams, in particular by vibration moulding. Specifications 936,744 and 936,745 are referred to.
