Abstract
966,773. Transistor switching circuits. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Nov. 27, 1961 [Nov. 30, 1960], No. 42330/61. Heading H3T. A transistor circuit in which the transistor 1 is cut-off by a pulsed signal applied to it, is characterized in that the input circuit includes a parallel combination of a capacitor 8 and a diode 7, the diode being connected so as to be cut-off by the portion of the pulsed signal which cuts-off the transistor, the arrangement being such that when the diode is cut-off the capacitor forms a differentiating circuit with the baseemitter resistance of the transistor when this is rendered conductive due to Zener breakdown. The differentiating action thus reduces the amount of current drawn by the transistor from the source when the input pulse is of sufficient amplitude to cause Zener action. As described, the arrangement forms a line deflection circuit, the inductor 2 being the line deflection coil and the diode 4 an efficiency diode.
