Abstract
Fatty acid mono- or di-alkanolamides are prepared by heating a fatty acid ester with a mono- or di-alkanolamine in the presence of sodium bicarbonate as a catalyst. In examples methyl laurate is heated with monoethanolamine and diethanolamine in presence of sodium bicarbonate. Specification 693,086 is referred to.
