965,388. Switch bases; high voltage switches. LA TELEMECANIQUE ELECTRIQUE. March 26, 1963 [April 2, 1962], No. 11946/63. Heading H2B. A high voltage switching assembly is mounted to a conductive rectangular bar 1 by clamping two conductor elements 9, 14 thereof against the opposite outer faces of a pair of interengaging moulded plastics channel sections 17, 18 by insulated bolts 19. The upper channel section 17 has an additional insulating plate 11 separating the element 9 carrying the fixed contact 10 of the switch from a further element 7 attached to a bus-bar 3, these two elements being interconnected through a blow-out coil 8. Various barriers 17d, 18c, 23 extend from the channel sections and serve to increase the length of leakage paths. A plurality of switches can be mounted on a common bar 1 with their respective channel sections in abutting end-to-end relationship, the switches then being automatically adequately spaced.
