Abstract
965,277. Rotary-piston internal combustion engines. REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT. June 19, 1961 [Aug. 26, 1960], No. 22063/61. Heading F1F. In a rotary-piston I.C. engine comprising a lobed piston 1, Fig. 2, rotating eccentrically in a lobed stator having one more lobe, admission and exhaust valve A ... J, one of each for each stator lobe, are disposed in the cylinder head 5, Fig. 1, concentrically about the engine shaft axis 8 with their stems parallel to the shaft. The valves are controlled by rocker-arms 14, rods 13 of varying length and pawls 12 of varying shape by cams on a single cam-shaft 10. The inlet cams being all of the same profile and similarly with the exhaust cams. The cam-shaft 10 which is driven by helicoidal pinions 11 besides controlling the valves controls the fuel and oil pumps 16, 18 and ignition device 17.
