964,954. Coating - apparatus. LECHLER VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H., and INDUVAG INDUSTRIE-VERWALTUNGS A.G., [trading as LECHLER BAUTENSCHUTZCHEMIE o.H.G.]. May 28, 1963 [July 24, 1962], No. 21271/63. Heading B2B. A spraying appliance, principally for coating the inside cylindrical surfaces of pipes and the like by the spraying of a liquid coating material by projecting the liquid to be sprayed from one or more nozzles preferably located parallel to the axis of a propeller on to the blades of the said propeller, comprises also a smoothing roller at a selectably adjustable distance from and parallel to the propellor axis, preferably driven by the same motor as the propeller. As shown, one component of a coating composition is supplied to nozzle b via conduit c, another component is supplied to hopper f and, entrained in air supplied at m, is carried to the nozzle via conduit d, while air is supplied direct to the nozzle via conduit e, the three conduits c, d and e being coaxial at the nozzle. The composition is ejected so as to impinge on the rotating blades of propeller a and be applied thereby to the substrate. A roller g on a resilient axle I is attached by bracket h to the propeller shaft.
