Abstract
963,332. Stoppers. I. GOTH. Oct. 26, 1960 [Nov. 27, 1959], No. 40452/59. Heading B8T. A combined pouring and dispensing stopper comprises a rotatable stopper 2, Fig. 1, with at least one channel 7a co-operating with a channel 7 in a container neck or in a member 1 which is a snap fit on the neck. As shown, the stopper has channels 7a, 8a, co-operating with a liquid outlet 7 and an air inlet 8. The stopper 2 is integral with a knurled sleeve 23 in the side of which is provided a pouring aperture 16, Fig. 7, the lip of which is provided with a projection to avoid drips. The sleeve 23 may be closed by a disc 18 provided with an aperture 20 opposite the pouring aperture and the aperture 14 in the disc part 13 of the stopper 2 is surrounded by side walls 19 to prevent liquid spreading on to the top of the stopper. A peg in the stopper 2 co-operates with a recess 25 in the member 1 to limit the rotation of the stopper to the open and the sealed positions. In a modification, Fig. 9, the member 1 with channels 7, 8 is formed in the neck b of the container and in Fig. 16 the rotatable stopper 2b is provided with a dispensing nozzle 29 which can be closed by a press-on cap 33 retained by a hinge strip 36. The stopper may be covered by a protective cap 38, Fig. 18, of resilient material which may be rolled in under the ridge 12 on the neck to form a tamper-proof cap. A tear-off tab 41 may be provided to facilitate removal. Specifications 792,301, 792,302 and 824,387 are referred to.
