Abstract
962,708. Speed-responsive switches. INVENTIO A.G. Aug. 2, 1962 [Aug. 12, 1961], No. 29666/62. Heading H2B. A cam regulator 1 includes a cam disc 1.2 rotated at an angular speed proportional to the travelling speed of an elevator, a rocking lever 1.3 rooked by the cam disc, a stirrup 2 mounted on the lever 1.3 and carrying a U-profile 3 having a mass 8 which is displaceably guided substantially tangentially to the rooking lever movement and is pressed against a fixed stop 3.2 by an adjustable spring force, and a switch 9 including a contact bridge 9.1 which is operated by an actuating bolt 6 fixed to the mass 8 to affect the control circuit of the elevator when a certain critical travelling speed is exceeded, the mass 8 being lifted away from the stop 3.2 against the adjustable spring force by the acceleration forces on the mass. The spring force is provided by a compression spring 7 as shown, or by a tension spring in a different embodiment (Figs. 3, 4, not shown). In a further embodiment, Fig. 5, a switch 24 is operated by movement of an actuating bolt 26 fixed on a permanent magnet 25, normally pressed against an armature stop 23 provided by a carrying stirrup 20, when the spring force and acceleration forces together overcome the magnetic forces. An alternative non-magnetic snap-action embodiment is referred to. The switch in the elevator control circuit must be re-set by hand in each embodiment.
