962,666. Nuts; locking nuts. L. C. H. JUY. Dec. 9, 1960 [Dec. 11, 1959], No. 42541/60. Heading F2H. For a cycle wheel hub, a knurled nut 1 with a conical boss is locked by a locknut consisting of a brass, internally-threaded insert 3 of polygonal section incorporated in a moulded, superpolyamide portion 2 which has a tapered recess corresponding to the shape of the nut-boss, there being a spring 4 between the nut 1 and insert 3. The locknut 2 has wings 2<SP>2</SP> or grooves or knurls. Due to the friction between the tapered surfaces of the nuts they can be applied by rotating as a unit. They are shown in the unlocked position.
