Abstract

Fibres, foils and other shaped structures of linear aromatic polyesters are dyed or printed with an aqueous dispersion of a dyestuff of the formula:- <FORM:0961446/D1-D2/1> in which R1 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, alkoxy-alkoxy, alkoxy-alkyl, aryloxy, trifluoromethyl, alkyl-OOC- or alkoxy-alkyl-OOC- group and R2 represents a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl or alkoxy group. Dyeing may be effected, with or without carriers, at temperatures up to or above 100 DEG C., and prints are preferably heat treated at about 200 DEG C. Examples are given.
