Abstract

The monoazo dyestuff of the formula <FORM:1063155/C4-C5/1> is used to dye or print fibrous materials of aromatic polyethers. It may be obtained by diazotization of p-toluidine followed by coupling to the appropriate napthoylanilide.ALSO:Fibrous materials of aromatic polyesters are dyed or printed with the dye of the formula:- <FORM:1063155/D1-D2/1> The dyeing may take place at 80 - 110 DEG C in the presence of carriers of at 110 - 140 DEG C. without carriers or by the thermofixation process at about 200 DEG C which process is also suitable for printing. Examples are given.
