Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula <FORM:0960613/C1/1> in which R is a C5-8 alkyl group, their preparation by reacting a pyrrolo-pyrimidine of the formula <FORM:0960613/C1/2> with a compound RX is the presence of an acceptor for hydrogen halide wherein one of X and Y is a halogen atom and the other a mercapto group, and pharmaceutical compositions containing them. Pharmaceutical compositions having anticonvulsant activity, comprise the compounds of the invention together with a pharmceutically acceptable excipient and may be formulated as tablets, capsules, cachets, ampoules, suppositories, powders, granules, solutions, suspensions, emulsions or ointments. For parental use the formulations must be sterile and presented in a sealed container. Specification 812,366 is referred to.
