[Also in Division H2] A hairdryer incorporates a fan driven by a motor 1, controllable means for heating the air, a switch 18 and a plurality of indicator lamps 19, 20, 21 so connected in a circuit that in each of at least two switch positions and with the circuit operative, the motor, the means for heating the air and one indicator lamp are energized, the amount of heat delivered and the lamp which is lit being dependent upon which switch position is chosen. As shown, the means for heating the air comprises heating elements 2, 3, the indicator lamps 19, 20, 21 are neons with resistors 26, 27, 28, switch 18 comprises three changeover switches 23, 24, 25 and references 5, 11 denote terminal blocks. A visor switch 4 ensures that motor 1 and heating elements 2, 3 cannot be operated unless the visor is correctly adjusted for hair-drying. As shown, the circuit is in the " off " position. When switch 25 is changed over, lamp 21 is lit and motor 1 is energized, so that cold air is blown. When switch 24 is changed over (switch 25 remaining changed over) lamp 21 is extinguished, lamp 20 is lit and heating element 2 is energized, blowing hot air. When switch 23 is changed over (switches 24, 25 remaining changed over) lamp 20 is extinguished, lamp 19 is lit and heating element 3 is energized, blowing hotter air.
