958,930. Gauging linear dimensions. Y. NUMATA. May 25, 1961 [Sept. 19, 1960], No.18968/61. Heading G1M. A vernier caliper gauge comprises a main beam a with jaws 19, 21 and bevelled surfaces 4, 5 which slide on mating surfaces of wedges 10, 11 on the lateral walls of a channel shaped vernier member b having jaws 20, 22. A measuring rod 23 is provided for depth measurement. The wedges 10, 11 are fixed to the member b by screws 15 which are fitted in oversize holes to facilitate adjustment.
