Abstract
956,898. Cable clips and holders. VOLEX ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS Ltd. Feb. 18, 1963 [Feb. 17, 1962], No. 6226/62. Heading H2C. Notches for locating electric cables are formed in a length of angled plastic A by cutting a T-shaped slot B and bending back the wings D thus formed about sloping lines C. The bends are smooth and the resulting aperture in which the cable F sits narrows towards the top. The notches are used to locate cables in electric heating systems so that the cable springs are not disturbed when a covering of concrete, plaster or sand is applied. The notched part may be inclined - to the horizontal attachment part (Fig. 2, not shown), such that when the cable is drawn through the notches in a direction parallel to the attachment part it beds down against the inner ends of the notches. In a further arrangement (Fig. 6, not shown), a channel-section bar has opposed notches in its side walls. The spacer bar may be formed of polyvinyl-chloride, metal or any other ductile material.
