Abstract
956,835. Labyrinth packing. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. Nov. 7, 1962 [Nov. 8, 1961], No. 42078/62. Heading F2B. In a labyrinth packing for a turbine shaft 5 and comprising a ring divided into segments 1 radially displaceable in an annular cavity 3 in the seal housing 2 between two seatings 21 and 22 and urged radially inwards by springs 4, the cavity 3 is connected by a radial bore 12 in each segment to a labyrinth chamber 6 in the seal gap which chamber is at a pressure PK differing from the mean pressure in the gap.
