954,520. Supplying current to moving and rotating conductors. DEUTSCHE GOLDUND SILBER-SCHEIDEANSTALT. March 1, 1963 [March 2, 1962], No. 8345/63. Heading H2E. A current supply arrangement for a tiltable induction furnace consists of two coaxial hollow cylinders, 14 and 15, separated by an insulating disc, 16. The inner conductor, 15, is placed through holes in bus-bars, 11 and 12, and is at its end remote from induction coil, 17, connected to bus-bar 11, by means of cap 20. The outer conductor is arranged on bus-bar 12, adjacent to the coil 17. The cylinders 14 and 15, cap 20, and disc 16, are jointly rotatable, making contact with surfaces of the bus-bars made of heattreated copper-chrome alloy. The bus-bars are separated by rubber ring, 13, which forces them against the conductor, 14, and cap, 20. The arrangement is water-cooled, water flowing along the centre of cylinder 15, and discharging through space 23. The bus-bars are also cooled by water flowing in copper pipes 26.
