[Also in Division F2] A leak detector for a resilient axially compressible and expansible corrugated tube 1 exposed internally or externally to a medium under pressure connects two members, e.g. pipes 2,3, capable of limited movement relatively to each other, the tube accommodating that movement, and there is a resiliently axially compressible and expansible corrugated tube 4 coaxially surrounding or within the tube 1, the two tubes forming a pressure-tight chamber 7, and a pressure-responsive device, such as a pressure gauge 9, being connected to the chamber for detecting pressure variation therein brought about by leakage in either of the tubes. A pressure of small value such that variations in the chamber's volume and/or the temperature thereof will not affect the pressure in the chamber is established through a pipe 10 provided with a valve 11 so that the gauge 9 is then adapted to indicate leakages in the tube 1 and also the tube 4. Preferably, a vacuum is established in the chamber. The device may be applied to a valve.
