Abstract

898,648. Stopping pipes. NORTHERN GAS BOARD, and WHITE, J. E. Dec. 31, 1958 [Dec. 31, 1957], No. 40465/57. Class 99(1). A pipe stopper comprises a flexible tube 3, the lower end of which, 5, is so constructed to deform more readily than the rest of the tube and is sealed. In use it is pressed into the pipe 4 and inflated at the appropriate spot. A two outlet cock 9, 10 allows for the simultaneous coupling of a pressure gauge and a pump. A fitting 11 seals off the pipe length to be tested.
