954,161. Bed-settee hinges. A. FROHWEIN. March 21, 1963 [March 27, 1962], No. 11760/62. Addition to 838,898. Heading A4J. The back 16 and seat 15 of a bed-settee, which are pivotally attached to each other, are supported by two curved links 11, 12 and have a latch member 18 pivoted to a bracket 19, which is fixed either to the back 16 or seat 15, so that a notch 20 and a pawl 24 on the latch member engage a pin 21 on either the seat 15 or back 16, respectively. The catch on the latch member 18 can be automatically tripped and reset by lifting the seat 15, so that the latch member 18 can be used either as a strut to enable pivoting of the seat and back together or, after releasing the catch, allow the seat to be pivoted alone.
