Abstract

953,638. Moulding thermoplastic sheets. WARNER BROS. CO. Oct. 9, 1962, No. 38099/62. Heading B5A. [Also in Division B6B] A web of synthetic plastic material is fed by parallel chains 46, 47, with a plurality of grippers mounted thereon from a supply roll 44 through a press mounted on a frame 39. The chains are intermittently driven by a reciprocating carriage 48 which grips the chairs adjacent the supply roll 44 for the return stroke. Each gripper, Fig. 9 (not shown), engages the web edge adjacent the roll 44 and releases it at the opposite end sprocket 50. The grippers prevent transverse shrinkage of the web after it is deformed in the press.
